So... everyone knows skincare.... but it was more like... facials, masks, and your daily regime of cleansing, moisturizing and sunscreen ( so important, if you don't wear sunscreen, buy. one. now!)... and that was considered extra!

But when korean skincare hit the globe with their sheet masks, serums and essences, it changed the game! now everyone has a skincare routine, and no, its not considered extra or bougie now. Even the laziest of lazy will throw in a sheet mask once in a while, talk about influence!

i mean this in no joking way but.... this thing literally... cleared my skin ( and water of course )

The 10 step routine originally faced a lot of skepticism, it seems way too much, people were flabbergasted by "snail essence" and weird ingredients in these products. But slowly slowly not only the globe realized and accepted this, but even the global skincare market decided to make skincare made of natural ingredients.

Essence and Serum for me, changed the game... oh not to forget TONER! sisters.... using toner alone with your moisturizer will put you a step ahead.

I struggled with pores, oily t zone and hyper pigmentation , but pore and sebum essence with retinol or vitamin c serums, put all my issues to bay. Now when anybody asks me how is my skin so good, i always answer, discipline, research and korean skincare.

All that is fun and games, but why korean skincare you might ask? well the price is where its at. Ok, I will say this, I'm in singapore, so korean products are physically available to me, so online shipping and stuff isn't a big issue, so idk about that. But besides that, the product itself, each cost about 20-35 sgd max? yeah. I'd rather spend that and get my 3 months of worth for that money than by 70 bucks skincare. Don't get me wrong tho, expensive skincare, really does do wonder's for your skin. But I'm a broke uni grad, with my skin still changing and having different needs, for me, that stuff is an investment. If I want to play with skincare, I would do with not so expensive, but not super cheap skincare, after all its your skin. Which is where korean skincare ~works~ for me.

If you are new and overwhelmed about what to do where to start, start of small first. Know what your skin type is, you can find that with your personal FREE consultant... google!

Once you know that, get four things based on your skin type, cleanser, toner, moisturizer and sunscreen. Try to use these 4 products daily and make it a habit. I personally would recommend to do it twice a day, morning and night, ( you dont need sunscreen at night so only three products for bedtime! ). Once you feel like the routine is in your system, you can start off with essence, serum and eye cream, one by one, or if you are confident, all three together! And there it is! thats literally the routine, cleanser -> toner -> essence -> serum -> eye cream(only at night) -> moisturizer -> sunscreen (only at daytime)

See its not that overwhelming right? the key to skincare, like anything, is to take it slow and navigate and work in a way that suits you!

Ps. if you want some non korean skincare brands that are reasonably priced, check out the ordinary, pixi, clinique and lo'real ( if i missed any, just search best drugstore skincare brands on google or youtube ) Have fun!
